Seems that they are distributing the Fab kits which are in limited numbers to maximum Aks ie one will get dust cover rail another will get stock another will get hand guards etc.Had seen in some RR units😑😑😑.Meh
Why Paras are not getting Ak203s 😑
In addition to Arads SF should buy some Ace Gen2 in 7.62x39 too.

One of the main issue with Para selection is that the applicant don’t have any option to choose between SF and Airborne. If some super talented guy in reality wants to join SF but is send to airborne selection and he gets selected there then his talents are not optimally utilised. And if some average skilled guy just wants airborne but is send for SF then enither ne never gets selected even if he posesses skills to get selected for airborne or even if he gets selected the unit might not get optimal results.
In west there are seperate selection for Rangers Green berets airborne and Deltas. Here it is clusterfuck.
But now as all the ones with para wings are proclaimed as SF that issue has been addressed 😑😂

There should be a selection board comprised of fine officers with intellect and less of hulla bulla.

Interviews should be conducted for hours.

You are hiring people that can one day guard your nuclear assets so you have to be really careful.

I am worried the present lot can even make reels in a nuclear facility.

I'll tell you this about the selection....

Little effort was made even to concurrently hike the advanced special forces skills training capacity of the special Forces Training school.

In one instance, a batch of 130 volunteers was sent to SFTs for probation (though SFTs had no such charter) and standards were diluted to pass at least 50 percent of them.

Concurrently, a larger batch was made to do a three-month probation at the Parachute Regiment Training Centre itself, including one month of the Para Basic Course. Thereafter, they were simply ‘posted’ to special forces units. This was in complete disregard of the requirement of six-month probation to be done in the respective special forces unit under the supervision of the concerned commanding officer.

Many of such intakes were sub-standard, even poor in battle physical efficiency tests (BPET), and the older junior commissioned officers (JCOs) and noncommissioned officers (NCOs) were heard commenting, “Sahib total pura ho raha hai.”

Since these individuals were ‘posted’ to units, to revert even one individual, the commanding officer was required to declare him ‘unsuitable’ and obtain sanction of army Headquarters prior to such reversion. This meant delay in months with ample chance of non-acceptance by the Para officer dealing with the issue in the Infantry Directorate.

I forecast that in the coming decades such standards will be further lowered to induct women officers followed by transgender and the entire Army would become a SFF kind of platform where sex among everyone gets common.

Send the so called elite forces to US to learn from US special forces on how to fly drone. By God 14 years old kids can do better in this than Indian forces. Or simple play some simulation game if you can't go to US for training to learn control on screen. :facepalm4:

NOTICE

Moving all kanging and history related posts to dedicated history section.
As far as I am aware Special forces thread was one of the most organized and level headed thread back in DFI and we intend to keep it so here as well.

The twitter drama being allowed to persist here might have something to do with the lowering quality of special forces thread but that does not mean we can have prolonged off-topic drama in this thread.

This thread will be limited to discussion about special forces gear, tactics, history of operations and future development.

Discussion regarding Indian history are a must as well as encouraged but in its own rightful section and thread. So if you feel like the topic your discussing does not fit inside the context of this thread than you should voluntarily move to history section.

Please continue the discussion here.

Garud ke standards bhi esse hi hain bro...havent you seen pics of Garud probies passing out...they are in such huge numbers. In the same article PC Katoch also mentions that the army SF can look at out own MARCOS who have 60% attrition rate (by themselves, the diving phase has alot too as we know). So that means the Navy did not dilute the standards. It's crazy to see how it goes on like this in our country. SFF too was diluted, they made the SFF into a refugee's intake into army rather than a special operations capable force which it was, infact it was a really potent force trained by the same guys who worked in MACV-SOG at the time, Vietnam was still going on.
The reason we are so pathetic in keeping standards high is, that everyone cares about being a tight knit family, all for one, one for all doesnt work everywhere. You can't keep everyone happy. That is the classic Indian problem. Brig (later Major General) Padha fought a lone battle to ward off the attacks and the DGMO had fully supported him to seperate SF regiment from Parachute Regiment but the Chief could not withstand the pressure and gave in to the demands of the Parachute Regiment veterans. Later on, while explaining this retrograde decision he would call Brig Keshav Padha to his office and mention that the “Gaon Boodas (Village elders) from your Regiment had virtually blown up the roof top of my office till such time I agreed to scrap this new Special Forces Regiment.”

Para SF should be kept away from SFF. Both are two different forces for two different tasks. Har jagah Para SF walo ko daloge ya Airborne walo ko daal dogey bina sochey samjhey just because chap has done some courses this doesn't mean he will fit in SFF. He will be a black sheep in the herd.

Around 2012 my friend who was a Ghatak in a Infantry unit told me that he trained with Garuds in CBS and said he didnt consider them SF.He went on to say that Ghataks were better than them in Physicals and Shooting..And went on to say what will these oxford shoes do against Kashmiri militancy.

Then few years ago i met a officer from Para SF who also trained with them and said the same thing that they dont match up against Para SF but talk sooo big about themselves that he got pissed and asked what great operations have you conducted?

Many might not know about their infamous incident in Mao land.

Anyway,Army has no idea what SF is and they consider it as just another regiment.

Thatswhy they treat it as such.

Even the SF officers havent stood up fot it.
