Basically SF should operate how SSG regulars were embedded with PAFF in the last 2-3 years?

Ya SSG is truly doing SF ops here but they are not successful because all they are doing is concentrating on resistance in forests but what they should be doing is sending officer level people and conducting psy ops.

By halaling Havaldars and Naiks with M4 in Kashmiri forests they wont get anything.

For us SG should be doing this but what SG does is send a squad for these vanilla ops and they must have already done it so many times.

SG should be focusing on POK and sending operators there.

Aks with Fab stocks are in service so does frw roamanian side folders.But these dudes seems to be from CAPF de to the Bulgarian Aks.

I have written about this in the previous forum.

The fact is everyone knows that the gear, uniforms, visual standards are sub par. That's already a fact, established.

The problem is none of the members talk about employment of our special forces. The moment till we use our special forces for counter insurgency ops, they'll keep doing the paramilitary job. You keep on sending them into the jungles, they will use the unit tailor made vests and Wet canteen Pants. Look beyond that.

One of the interviews on Shawn Ryan show, the guest says" Send 12 of us, we might overthrow a government, take over the functioning of the institutions of a country". That's the level, strategic, tipping scales kind of employment should be our focus.

The rest will follow. Our Special forces should be viewed as invisible extension of our country's reach. They shall be trained in such a way.

Bro everyone had said this atleast a million times about this,but that has to be more of a govt policy rather than military’s.If only govt is willing to send the boys across the border as military advisers or to sabotage some tactical or strategic targets the establishment will always send the boys for CT ops only.How else you think these boys will get combay experience if they are reserved for only the true SF ops west does which won’t happen in Indian context in near future .

Well, SG has done that in the past. Actually comes down to mil-politico alignment. Pehle ceasefire toh kholdo to start with. Baadme spec ops ki baate hogi

Again nothing new and exclusive to em, SF chaps were wearing IR Strobes during Pathankot CT Op!

Strobe marking helps chopper pilot/UAV guys the most and for the ground force it is an added benefit. Aise the troops from almost all units use IR patches on certain gear or simply IR or visible cyalum stick in J&K. I am unaware about northeast units

Rather than blame it on military it has to do with Central govt or cabinet secretariat it seems.If SG is doing cross border actions we need our men to do the same.But the risk of men getting killed or captured alive is also something to be considered as unlike pakistan if a soldier goes missing our govt is liable to be answered for his family.

you're mistaken here. Saying that all SG does is CI-CT ops is like saying that all Marcos do CI-CT ops in valley

Absolutely, they helps in IFF and reduces chances of Blue on Blue significantly!

I didnt use the word “All”.

I said they waste sending a squad for these vanilla ops when they could be used somewhere else.

SG operators have already done many of these vanilla ops before joining SG.

Our Infantry is not at that level that you can pullout all SF units and expect to dominate Kashmir.

Some units have to be there and they should be rotated.

Funny thing is…the best equipped units aka 9 and 4 are the ones who are fighting the most..so this arguement is not practical.

There are some units who see very less combat and dont even have dogs and ballistic shields (the new raised ones).

I feel combat helps you a lot but i dont like the way 9,4 and 21 and maybe some other are over used.

And i also feel SF should not be used in petty ops like now..they should be used on LOC.

I agree combat experience is very important thing I believe sf shouldn't be used without proper intelligence and in every encounter use few sf in small teams but use ghatak troops and common infantry as main force
