Indian Special Forces

Sent this to we have a "Sniper school now" having a dedicated Sniper school and having a dedicated course is 2 different things Marcos and NSG and the only 2 guys who take sniping capabilities seriously I won't comment about Garuds cause I am not much aware about them.
What makes you think that MARCOS have good sniper training facility!?
Just because they are trained to fire from helicopters doesn't mean they have good sniper training school.
Look at the sniper rifles they use. It's a civilian hunting rifle, in comparison para sf and NSG atleast have better sniper rifles.

It's comment section is full of Fanboy (who thinks he is trying to save honor of Indian army) VS vivek krishnan ..

Most of these accounts are of children specially of jawans and NCOs and some are of officers who carry a different type of attitude in life specially for the Army.

They feel that since their father became a jawan they have been wronged and hence develop a inferiority complex in life.

They go and abuse veterans who were officers of the unit their father was a jawan of.

Childrens of officers grew up with a sense of entitlement in a fuedal kind of a system with a thought like how dare a civilian talk about us…like could be seen in the Uber deal.

They will come and defend things which are undefendable.

They think if the Army is criticised its their blood relatives getting abused hence they take it personally and we have such estemeed members everywhere.

Where Majors of IA have not defended Sniping these people have…Sniping is the lowest skill of Indian Infantry as per world standards.

"Civilian hunting rifles" really??

DMRs and Sniper Rifles in service according to open source:

- PSG-1
- IWI Galatz
- Dragunov
- Sako T3 TAC
- OSV-96 AMR
- VSK-94 SSR
- Vintorex SSR

Also how retarded one has to be to say something like this- 'Just because they are trained to fire from helicopters doesn't mean they have good sniper training school'. NSWTTC literally have a Sniper course for the frogmen, even CCDT, VBSS and other SF chaps also go there!

The finished product looks really good. I'd have presumed the knockoff red dot they showcased earlier would come as a bundle package for this weapon.
That brings the question what sights are they using on Asmii rn?

These aren't sniper rifles, all are DMR. Vintorez SSR and VSK-94 SSR as the name suggests is Sniper Support Rifle(SSR) not sniper rifles
Your concept of sniper rifles are entirely different from world standard.

The limited numbers of OSV-96 AMR in Marcos service won't make any difference, 1st of all, no serious military uses this rifles. Only poor 3rd world countries on which Russians have great influence on them have it. Probably Marcos inducted it during the time of western scantion on India.
Sako T3 TAC Marcos have is base varient which fires 7.62 x 51 cal rounds, and it's max range won't even cross 1000m, in western countries it's used as hunting rifles by civilians.

PSG-1 is an outdated sniper rifles. Yes it was one of the top rated SR during its time in 70s and 80s, now there are sniper rifles with far better accuracy, range and provision for accessories to be fitted which helps a sniper to hit the target from more than 2000m. Atleast army have .338 LM, Marcos still don't have it.

Morden snipers in advanced military are trained to hit targets beyond 2500m using LM or NM rounds. Or they use 50cal rounds for extremely long range shots which are beyond 3000m.
To get trained for such long range shooting, they need sniper schools with multiple firing ranges with more 4000m long. Something Marcos cannot accommodate inside their 150 acres of NSWTTC.
In advance sniper course there are cources like urban sniping which requires lot of infrastructure.
In india there is no good sniper school, be it in army, air force or in navy.

It's surprising that marcos don't use .338

He's right. For SF snipers there is a Sniper wing at SFTS which had hired some external instructors if im correct
