K Series Submarine Launched Ballistic Missiles (1 Viewer)

Update/rumours on K6 SL-ICBM (naval Agni 6) from WION.
No news on K5 in sight though.
India is close to conducting sea trials of its ambitious K-6 hypersonic missile, according to media reports. Being developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) , the missile can deploy from India's upcoming S-5 class nuclear submarines.
When developed, the K-6 will be capable of reaching hypersonic speeds, measured at Mach 7.5 or more than 9,200 kilometres per hour. The missile's operational range is 8,000 km, which means it can strike deep inside enemy territory in just minutes.
The K-6 missile features Multiple Independently Targetable Reentry Vehicle (MIRV) technology. This will enable a single missile to strike multiple targets with precision, thus providing it with enhanced effectiveness in both offensive and deterrent capacities.
The K-6 is a significant upgrade from earlier Indian submarine-launched ballistic missiles or SLBMs such as the K-4 (range of 3,500 km) and K-5 (up to 6,000 km). It will surpass the BrahMos missile in both speed and destructive capability. It is designed to be over 12 metres in length with over 2 metres of diameter.

Submarine launched nuclear delivery missiles.
K15 Sagarika
K4 missiles
Now upcoming K6.

Our Submarine launched nuclear missoles, doesn't follow the nomenclature of ascending numbers, k1,k2,k3,k4,k5,k6....... etc.

We have, k15 & k4, with upcoming k6.

Summary of existing projects in the system:
NameOperational Range (km)Speed (Mach)Flight Ceiling (km)Status
K-15 Sagarika (B-05)700–750~6~20Active
K-43,500~7.5UnknownActive
K-55,000~7.5UnknownUnder development
K-68,000~7.5UnknownUnder development

Have fun running the thread from now on. The thread will remain in strategic forces and not naval section.

May be those were serial numbers of discontinued prototype or R&D projects.

one qus about K4:- Did we test our K4 from arihant class SSBN VLS? if not, why its taking so long🥲. untill now i only heard they test K4 from underwater pontoon. this 3500 km range K4 is very important to strike china, yet we r slowly moving toward its integration in arihant SSBN.
