ABSOLUTELY, it is plain madness to space them apart and at the same level as the middle pylon. (although remember that the pylons are spread out along z axis). With a missile like ASRAAM - so clean and with hardly any fins - this is an absolute travestyJust a question... can the ASRAAM missile on the right can be shifted on lower side increasing space for middle pylon to carry 2 missile

Something like this without the left side bomb.
You can do many things, assume pylon is at position p:
1. Diagonal like you showed - although the stresses are too high for AAMs.
2. The outboard p-1h-1x, the inboard at p-2h (x axis running along wingspan, h being height) - Gripen E does something similar with Meteor
3. Use side by side but pack them close, much more close - they are just being stupidly cautious with the spacing, or cant be asked designing new rail launcher and wanted to reuse existing.
Its basically JUGAAD engineering. Disappointed doesn't cut it.
