Place the orders of 97 Tejas now
Doesnt govt already placed, i think 1 month there was a news !Place the orders of 97 Tejas now
No, only DAC approval came. This will be followed by CCS approval and then final order placement. Still several months away, unless fast tracked.Doesnt govt already placed, i think 1 month there was a news !
The new engine is delivered to HAL Bengaluru facility and will be fitted with the production aircraft in line which hasn’t received any engine. All those 4-5 Tejas built will be in Category B engines only for time being.Better late the never .. eh ?
Sarcasm aside , the new engine was delivered 2 months ago and the news from ADA was that the airframes are ready waiting for engine integration ...now this first one is outfitted with an old engine![]()

Probably most of MK1A features unless structural changes are required.>LCA Mk1 expeted for Overhaul
Overhaul meaning what? they will add all Mk1A improved equipment to the existing mk1 plane?
But can IOC tejas work with those upgrades?Probably most of MK1A features unless structural changes are required.
Out of curiosity, why is a second order urgent? It will take several years to produce the first 83 Mk1A even on the most optimistic projections. Long lead items take 2(?) years to produce? No, only DAC approval came. This will be followed by CCS approval and then final order placement. Still several months away, unless fast tracked.
You saw what ge said on the engine order, when production line was closed for 3-4 years, then hal placed an orderOut of curiosity, why is a second order urgent? To me placing an order for Mk2 is much more important. That will give the builder time to set up for production so there is not a big delay between IAF acceptance and production starting.
In the operation Sindoor forum, I asked if Tejas was used in the aerial combat that happened. Does anyone have any info regarding this? There was a tweet regarding this, but I couldn't make anything out of it...Neither was Mig-21 heard being used in it..
