Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

yes, and they are doing a good job. they seem to have solved a long standing issue of pipeline management, prioritisation, financing and in house technical proficiency, within IA.

nonsensical RFIs without proper tech specs are quite rare now a days.
Army had its own design bureau?
Is it manned by its own afsars?

once in a while spend time on tracking their activities.
Just to pay lip service to aatmanirbharta, they know that as long as they do this jhumla and sabotage placing of orders they can continue to import under 'emergency procurement'

  • Army Design Bureau (ADB) acts as a facilitator for technological R&D efforts and procurement of indigenously developed weapons and equipment. ‘Make Projects’ are being spearheaded by the Indian Army to compliment the vision of Government of India and to create a robust defence ecosystem. Out of 52 Make Projects, 35 Projects have reached prototype development stage and beyond. Number of projects under Army Technology Board (ATB) have risen from 17 to 62 in one year.

Can our tin-buckets or these helmets be made of ballistic materials? ... Won't simply switching to that be easier?

If you order 10 helmets, you get each helmet for ₹250 a peice.
There's no way they are made of ballistic materials.
Mai to the raha agar Haat se pathhar fek ke maaroge to bhi chot lagegi😂.

With that Said, half of our soldiers wear ₹250 helmets😭😭😭.

Technically they are not ballistic helmets to protect our soldiers. It is an adhoc helmet.
