This, I was about to write this and you said it first. I think these kshatriya, Brahman and vaishyas should become traits based on capabilities and career aspirations rather than inherited by birth (no one should be kshatriya by birth rather by deeds and karma, similarly Brahman as a birth right should shift to Brahman as a choice, ala becoming a priest or a scholar - similar to the abrahmic faiths - i know it's an unpopular opinion).
Why should some one born with a surname as Reddy (me) not become a priest if I want to?
This inherited by birth traits must be abolished if we want Hindus to become united. This is the only way we need to move forward, inclusivity within our dharma. Shudra as a caste/trait must be abolished all together, it carriers too much stigma at this point to reuse for any inclusivity purpose.
Purists and orthodoxy will be appalled at my (radical) thinking but I believe that is the way forward for us if our dharma is to survive. Remove the concept of inheritance of dharmic traits by birth. But that is wishful thinking on my part.

problem with this is people think their so called "superiority or inferiority" is bigger thing, than joining hindus with each other nd become strong for invader cults. they r creating only devide by this (superiority or inferiority) mindset...neither our any holy books (which i think isnt instructive like abrahmic cult books, but discriptive in nature) said one varna is superior nd other varna is inferior. every varna hv importance in society. if one varna respect others, other will also mutually respect him back. why is it so difficult to understand between our people? no wonder hindus extinct, who where present from syria to Phillipines. even hindus facing challenges in homeland india nd nepal.

all converted were these type of coward hindus/buddhist/jain/sikh😂....who can easily disown their well-wishers, sympatheiziers etc, if they face problems....they will either get converted, killed or leave their home place. thats why i am not get involved in "save hindus" campaign. srilankan hindus hv guts to fight...other places hindus just surrendered.
