yes...but STAR nd brahmos hv similar liquid fuelled ramjet engine...so we can develop a super cruise missile like brahmos from STAR target testing platform in future. we r not hearing anything about brahmos NG development. so i was saying may be they want our own mini brahmos later from STAR missiles.
i dont think brahmos NG alternative lie in project ITCM nd vishnu. coz brahmos NG is supercruise missile is based on ramjet engine. meanwhile subsonic missile ITCM is based on turbofan engine nd hypersonic vishnu missile will be based on screamjet engine.

1. STAR is developed as a product of existing technologies India has for interception exercise. Star is not a precursor for BrahMos in any circumstances (unless you wish to see a BrahMos variant getting intercepted by CIWS). STAR is a confirmation that we have technology and not a TD of BrahMos.
2. In terms of role, ITCM and Project Vishnu fulfill the requirement. BrahMos-NG being produced though is a good to have thing as other great powers too produce multiple kind of weapons for same role to keep options open, BrahMos and STAR are not and not required to related.

Actually phanboys are blaming AMPL now instead of HAL lmao. Not here but on X. Blaming GoI for unnecessarily pushing private players when well established PSUs like BEL was there. PSU phanboys are doing everything to save face of HAL who is probably the one behind delay of certification of SVK to begin with.

Isme merit kaha se aya sir. It's just corruption through and through. DRDO has done its job and even suggesting practical solution. It's HAL being Dalal again.

In fact, making HAL’s decision even more perplexing, in a recent internal communication to HAL and DRDO in April, CEMILAC stated that the Uttam radar had completed four phases of flight trials. Additionally, the radar hardware had undergone qualification tests according to the LCA Mk1A’s requirements. To facilitate the induction of the radar, CEMILAC recommended commencing production of the radar subsystems, with HAL’s avionics division in Hyderabad serving as the lead system integrator."

Uttam + Israeli EW is possible but HAL don't wanna accept that solution..

Saar DRDO is an R&D Agency. How can we sell R&D agency to Adani, Ambani,L&T who spent less money than number of words in R&D. They will start to do german engineering at affordable price jhoomla.

bro first thing most people agree our education system based in memorization. so getting more marks doesnt mean that person hv merit to invent something.
second thing, all entrance test r medium to choose candidates. they r not proofing that students who r getting more number r more talented. Getting more number isnt a "true merit". coz if a person getting 1st rank in a entrance test, it doesn't mean he will sustain that position in new exams also. i mean it can be possible that top ranker get 50 rank or 100 rank or 500 or 1000 rank in next exam. entrance exams r just to choose candidates from lot of students. it isnt their capability test or superiority over other candidates. a capable candidate can perform bad for different reason (anxiety etc) in a exam.
For example we know apj abdul kalam hv good contribution in DRDO nd ISRO. It doesnt mean he was 1 rank holder in DRDO entrance test. although by merit logic, he should be 1st rank holder.

So much delay in 4 th gen dev. So much delay in procurement, such heavy cost over run. So far away from 5th gen dev. It's embarrassing and also painful to see this. Horrible.

Mk1A isn't further delayed though. Why is everyone reacting like that? HAL probably picked Israeli system to avoid further delays because they are under the fire from IAF. Also the previous delays were because of GE supply chain issue.

There is no need to use Uttam then, it will forever be a "science project" item and even Atmanirbhar Armenia can't help us there.
