Every time when China says this they create tension at the boarder and try to encroach on our land
Things have changed a lot in the past year, especially after the Russo-Ukrainian war. Infiltration is much harder now due to the heavy military presence on the LAC.
China is now self-reliant and doesn’t depend on the West like we do. They also have a big market in Africa, which wants to move away from Western influence, and China is their best option.
We still need to become self-reliant. The West is putting up barriers for us, and aligning with them would mean giving up our sovereignty and cultural values, which we do not want to nad is creating the rift.
Besides the remote areas of Ladakh and Arunachal, China doesn’t have major conflicts with us. Also we do not challenge their dominance in the future due to our limited land and resources and huge population.
Both sides want to protect their countries from Western influence. Despite China's history of betrayal, the only way to protect our mutual interests is to work together.
The US is pretty isolated, invincible, surrounded by oceans and has ability to conquer pussy neighbours without much resistance. Even their population wouldn’t mind the conquest.
I do not see any other way around.
