Many are getting selected just because they came for the 15-16th time in SSB. So that means they are dedicated and gets selected just based on that.

The screening process is very randomise, someone able to come up with one good line GD will get through.

The only reason I don't respond to him is coz I know will be ratiod to oblivion and abused .

Yes ik , but still after college entry would be better than 12th grade passing kids getting into NDA.
modern forces round the globe requires top skills, that can be better taught in good colleges only not in some school or defence college.
how can we select candidates in this era with selection criteria used in world war or pre world war era.
 
The cover truck really saved them otherwise we can’t even imagine what those pigs would’ve done to the dead soldier’s bodies big up to those men that even under heavy fire they made sure to not leave the second truck alone and gave their everything man I really feel bad for our troops only if they had an armoured truck covering the situation would be different

Adding to this-
The Garhwal soldiers fired 5k+ rounds to cover the second truck and retaliate against the ambush even when they had injuries in their own vehicles and were pinned down.

only way to resolve that was belt treatment of local population who supports them , but that is out of option coz of our "secular" , "pacifist" military.

Little correction not army but political leadership the interrogation methods during peak terrorism were the example of ye kya iska baap bhi bolega more than just belt treatment but you need the actual “free hand” not jumlebaaz free hand where you have to kiss the OGW on the forehead if he doesn’t speak.

Thread is going way OT here. How do you know what's the current criteria for selection ? Also, is it the quality of kids that are being selected for training at NDA bad or is the cirriculum taught at NDA outdated or even irrevelant ? Matter of Fact, USMA picks at highschool level too, they currently boast the most powerful arsenal.. I dont see american forces lacking here. As for the skills part, pick any offcr who graduated from Naval Academy or even the engineering schools from where TES/TGC and SSC(T) guys study, they arguably have the best engineers from the country at par with "old campus" IIT graduates.

Lot of capital allocated for acquisition is returned to treasury each year as they remain under-utilised. Wonder what kind of genius level IQ or IIT-IIM-IAS certification is required to prepare documentation for buying Trucks with Armoured cabins or retro-fitting existing ones. While this is our state, we are dreaming of Drones Swarms, CATS warriors, Robotic Mules and other wonder-waffe

Unbelievable that we are not even able to provide such basic equipment when our men are dying every other day despite having so called nationalist for 10 years, a booming economy and huge tax collections. Really ashamed at our apathy for our soldiers every time I read such news

Don't forget the distt admin too, sometimes a kashmiri District Magistrate can be a pain in the ass when conducting operations.

no one would have pinned OGW's death on army if it had'nt been that viral clip. Army is blamed of "atrocities" for decades without proof of torture, what will couple of more deaths would have proved.

Leadership will always sell the idea of kashmir as peaceful to outer world but under the table they give free hand to forces to stabilise the region anyhow.

It was a big mistake it was controlled very well but still a blunder but again India is still better we have literal videos of us army troops massacring civilians even r*ping children and no one can do shit about it.

so if selection of candidates is not the problem then it's probably what taught in def clgs.
i may be wrong but we waste a lot of time on doing stuffs which would been useful in world war era not for this era. (bayonet charge , marching daily for hours, assembling guns blindfolded)
