CI/CT Operations

This is a big misconception we are not short of manpower at all.
Compared to what ? Multiple ex senior officers of the IA have gone on record to share information that the IA hasn't replinished the nearly 2 lakh jawans @ 60-65000 jawans per year who've retired between 2020-23 simply by halting recruitment.

Agniveer is merely taking in 45000 recruits of which half are to be retained.

Shifting most of the budget towards infrastructure, hence low recruitment

I have pointed out this issue much earlier on DFI.

Every next day MoD takes chai-Biscuit meeting but fat UN Generals failed to prepare any contingency plan until incident occurs.

A country where Prime minister can't fire a police constable, don't expect any improvement. Unfortunately soldiers will keep dying like happened all the time.

India need a extremely ruthless policy against Judiciary, UN Generals and Babus. India need its own Gulag system.

Barring some SF like para or marcos, average Indian infantrymen are viewed as replaceable cannon fodder and hence are equipped and fed accordingly.

They will learn it the hard way they were taking advantage of people wanted to join the army for jobs now after agniveer they have to do AD campaign like other countries.

Those senior Jurnails just need meat for meat grinder. Their mind still haven't evolved out of the tactics from coldwar era.

seems like QTE quick reaction teams are failing here. 1 hr gunfight at night and soldiers barely escaped with lives

i know govt wont allow gunships / "airsupport" , but we need apache or luh or something with a gun and a thermal imager . get in fast to encounter site and shred militants to peices . air drop more via another helicopter . even if they use a thermal cloak or go into a cave to evade thermal vision they will have to stay there and will be kiled .

Mountain warfare by its very nature , whether offensive or defensive is a man power intensive operation. It's much more for offensive than for defence & both the LAC & LoC are mountainous terrain. We simply don't have a choice there.

Moreover just to generate a talking point - for all the tech savvy modern army which is high on tech & low on manpower created on western doctrines emphasising short sharp wars lasting weeks not months leave aside years that is being laid to rest in Ukraine , which we seek to replicate , as of now we've not inducted any artillery besides the M-777. The rest are either involved in never ending tests or are caught up in red tape.

If one isn't inducting tech in significant numbers , the least one can do is not tinker with the number of manpower. And in any case , as I've remarked earlier mountain warfare is a manpower intensive operation.

I'd leave it at that . Don't wish to sound like a complaint box or prophet of doom. As it is there are plenty around.

You divert troops to Jammu from Kashmir to tackle the problem there & guess what happens. And what's more you'd have to do that as there are no troops to spare as we're 2 lakh troops short .

Besides instead of the yearly intake of ~ 70,000 odd jawans , thru Agniveer we're now taking in 45,000 only. Basically this is a self inflicted wound. Leaderji & Leaderji alone has essentially created this problem .

that story of a govt bureaucrat insulting a army general / officer when he complained about shortage . its all by design , to reduce manpower . all the generals and chiefs crying about reduced fighting capability of army . nothing will change .

people crying over few deaths in valley . shit will truly hit fan if PLA moves forward.
