I take it that you have a problem with criticism of the Indian MIC and procurement process.
How many production Tejas has HAL delivered since production started? Remember, these aircraft were supposed to start replacing MiG-21 pre-2000.
How many Tejas Mk2 have been delivered? I remember that production of these was to follow on from last Tejas deliveries of 32 fighters+8 trainers scheduled for 2019.
When was TEDBF planned to fly? A 3 year delay has just been announced. I don't recall if that was for roll out or for first flight.
India, ROK and Turkiye started 5G fighter projects in 2010.
ROK is well organised. KAI KF-21 is in production with first deliveries scheduled for next year.
Turkiye is well organised. TAI has flown KAAN prototype P0. Further prototypes are scheduled for this year.
The AMCA received the go ahead for prototype construction and testing in March 2024. After many years no agreement has been organised to develop a 110K engine for use in AMCA Mk2. No company has been organised to build AMCA.
Some examples of how India is disorganised and does not appear able to do anything on time. Its project management needs to get organised so that instead of talking about making fighters, India actually makes them.
Have any of the fighter projects succeeded? Timewise, no. But Tejas Mk1A looks like it will be a good, albeit range-limited, payload-limited, light fighter/interceptor. I think that Mk2 will be a much better fighter. When will IAF receive it? Who knows outside of those involved in the project.? Rollout had been speculated for 2022 to celebrate 75 years of independence, was scheduled for 2023, was re-scheduled to 2024, was re-re-scheduled to 2025. Let's hope it rolls out this year.
By the way, has a company to build Tejas Mk2 been organised yet?
