Varghese?Obviously me
Just kidding...his name is C.J. Varghese. Studies in hecking Cranfield and already has 6 patents ranging everything from a freaking auto-loader for 84mm CGRL to Active Protection System for tanks.
That guy's one of the primary source of my daily ehsaas-e-kamtari
“Hey Aditya, one more clarification. I was sent this. This member of your forum has got a few things wrongIs there someone who will be bothered to write an academic paper on small arms in India?
SSS Defence started their journey with showcasing MDT Technology's rifles as their own, then the AK based P-72 and finally the M4 as M-72. ASTR guy came into limelight because of that SCAR ripoff and then came the SIG Sauer P320 in the form of Atal. And despite literally copying these are the "respected" people in my view as everyone else is just doing straight ScrewdriverGiri; from Jindal to PLR to Reliance to what not. How could you even think that someone would come up with a concept of any groundbreaking weapon here in India?
In past half a decade or so I've come across just one guy, JUST ONE who's doing something that really deserves to be called research or innovation.

- “MDT tactical rifle as their own” - MDT doesn’t make its own rifles. They do make stocks, chassis, accessories. And I think he may have assumed so since the first version of our weapon had a skeletal buttstock on our chassis. We received an email from MDT some 4 years back asking for details. Apparently, they received complaints from some anonymous guys in India. Anyway, all details were supplied and they came back clearing us and saying they’d like to work with us as a supplier of accessories. Yes, we did test out their magazines but don’t use them.
- AK based P72: Surely right but there are differences in design on each part. Now there are 1000’s of AK clones. The P72 is not a clone.
- M4 as M72: nope. M72 is a short stroke piston based system
I don’t question his knowledge of firearms. Am just correcting some misconceptions. Your forum can always ask us queries and we’ll be happy to answer.”
