Ik he is probably reading it they all lurk here so respectfully bhai the DFI community has been here since 2008 the name might have changed but the community hasn't the we have had veterans on this forum way older than you guys (including the ones serving rn ) who are no longer between us OM shanti 🙏 but the point that Army has to update the gear has been on here since 2008 this isn't something new that just span out of nowhere that we are paid to question the gear so a certain someone can sell their gear or whatever fantasy you are cooking in your dreams the veterans here themselves have questioned the gear since long @Binayak95 bahiya has also been a veteran but doesn't shy away from criticising the gear when it's not up to the mark the thread still has older members active like @rkhanna who have been here from the beginning before we even had companies in this country to sell gear so we have no other motive then seeing our forces in best gear ever

people dont realise SSB is in and of itself not perfect, things are always in flux, and SSB is undergoing changes - and SSB benchmarks every candidate as per his/her background - and thus is not any gold standard that everyone can then mark themselves against.

AND then we come to the whole pandora box of military training.

Facing the long arm of Law just to satisfy this exfart dude's ego cause a veteran Major from SF who has been in a certain theatre of combat, certified in UWDC and CFF, served in a certain capacity in est 22. Multiple foreign tours says that the gear in use with that particular unit in photo is footpathiya sadakchaap and we should get better personal gear for the bravehearts facing the brunt.

How sick you have to be in the head to have such a line of thought. It's a shame that we have such people as "defence experts" who are supposed to bridge the gap between the nation's military and Civilians. Let's not give these guys faaltu ka attention. I'd consider elitepredators 100x better than whoever this is. Tomorrow If an entire Cdo group from 31RR shows up in Crye precision clothing and breathable platecarriers these same guys will go nuts

There are people here who have passed tougher tests and keep quiet here about their achievements.

People who have interacted with others and seen what types of stuff are out there and what they can do accept the reality .
People who prefer to isolate themselves don't.
Marcos Also had bad gear 20 years back , they started interacting with others and voila due to some "dalals" intervention they decided to basically replace all of their gear .
Weird isn't it .

I am not an expert , i never claimed to be but I do know what some devices can do what other cant .
I have seen and read enough to know that to to engage effectively beyond 200m in a region like laddakh you need a 4x not holographic sight. You don't need to be in combat to know this .
Similarly you don't need to clear SSB to know that a Crye precision PC is better than a stitched one .
If supporting good standards makes me a dalal I need my payment from AT .

MARCOS's mission overlaps alot with SEALs, SWCCs, Old school DEVGRU (mission set ki bat kar ra hu), MARSOC Raiders, Force Recon, Coast Gaurd MSRT, MSST & HITRON. So US has a diverse SF subset because of their budget and resources. Damn imagine less than 1000 guys doing all that what a total of 20,000 US Special operators do. Ofcourse I am not comparing but still, MARCOS are always busy I've made an assesment from combining all open source platforms as to what MARCOS deployment cycle would be and what all they'd be doing apart from sending a task unit sized force in Kashmir early. But I cant really share than here. All I can say is that I belive MARCOS follow the UK SF model of deployment on 6 month basis

Marines did joint excercise with Marcos in Goa. Probably this is presented by them.
And nowhere it says this is from MARSOC.

Even this year's tri service excercise excercise Tiger Triumph 24 Marines were involved.
