Are yaar majak kar raha tha .

Even basic monocular will have been useful , ghatak units have achieved squad wipe wile running older BEL craps .
Also a major issue is that they are not really trained to use them properly, have seen them put them on wrong.
Also in such scenarios they need to engage under nods which they clearly are not Train Ed and equipped for not use it as a navigation aid .
In such scenarios engagement break out in an instant, we have no time to remove the nods and then aim

I doubt if they are receiving proper training for nvg

Lack of nvg is definitely a problem but I believe training in nvg is bigger problem
Og sf team have pvs 14 and they will receive pvs 31 in future
With proper training seasoned operator is just as lethal as he is with pvs 14 or pvs 31

How bad/good is it? Those jacket types are pure shit but the new one looks better (not armasen level but still)

Look , it's sad but nvg are not effective in that terrain .
Yall think like in Call of Duty you can just put on nods and go around , it's not that easy in reality . Just after seeing some photo ops and Hollywood movies you form an opinion.

We have enough nvgs we use it as per ops requirement not for showoff how some ssb rejects want.
Have you ever even touched a gun forget about nvgs

I keep saying it but having ‘new’ kit isn’t enough, they only have the basics but clearly don’t have the employment tactics to go with it

Where are the med packs? The chem-lights? The IR strobes? The drop bags? The flash bangs? The don’t even look like they have side arms here

Oh but but this is just training we have seen some of this before, well why doesn’t a professional freaking force consider these things standard?

Frankly I’ve never seen an Indian unit even close to what ASEAN SOF are now forget Tier 3 in the US, Tier 1/2 are another galaxy and I doubt India will ever get on par

I think you are confusing it with Olive planet pc and some of them just use unit tailored pc

That ma durga one was just seen a months back so don't think any recent bulk orders of them by SF

In papua Indonesians are fighting bow wielding , very ill trained and equipped opponents with such gear , gives them maximum advantage thus very low cas .

IA level thinking is to wait until the enemy gets an upper hand then run around for emergency/‘fast track’ procurements

I was genuinely hoping some more night fighting equipment was going to make it from Afghan to Kashmir to force these big brains to wake up but it seems the Pak army has hoovered a lot of it up


Just don’t worry everyone, at least the IA is setting benchmarks to be world class….

+ we will see the old camo till the ordnance factory inventory runs out of the old stock. GOI instructions have asked them to use them all before switching.

And I think another change is required, not in terms of camo but just don't think them of as 'Uniform' but as combat clothing with features like gearsmith clothing

In that too their admins forget to blur the name tag

Also no control over guys like wolfdevilbajwa, no dedicated team to spot such people both ours and the enemy chapri soldiers while other countries have such teams.

IA claim to be professional and discipline, uniformity is the ultimate embodiment of that but you get 10 soldiers and you’ll get 30 different standards of equipment.

The excuse they haven’t got money for these basic things doesn’t ring true anymore, besides don’t they have 10000s of people whose entire job is to literally manage logistics and inventory?

So what’s left? They are unbelievably inept? Corrupt?
