Indian Special Forces

Not sure with the obsession with showing policemen of US on this thread. It’s very common to see even civilians have such large arsenals of weapons and gear. This is america baby
I accidentally posted it here I wanted to post in the foreign SOF one it was too late to delete when i realised it

Not the place to post these either.

outside of the Major City SWAT/ERTs - NY, LA, Detroit, Miami, Seatle etc the broad base of US SWAT teams are joke as the Texas school shooting showed.

All the kit with no training or doctrine or SOPs is all pointless.

The first 50 minutes aren't engaging too much, it gets better after that
Col RS Bhadauria 10SF
Was Part of the raid on Jaffna University with then Maj Sheonan and Maj Nair during Op Pawan in Lanka, later went to the North East for suppressing the insurgency wherein mentions about Major Ivan Crasto of 1SF who had a lafda with the GOC of which Maj Sapru also mentioned somewhere.
Goes on to command the battalion in J&K Kupwara, says about a record for 76 kills with no fatal casualty in the valley, mentions of an incident responding to a distress call by Col Panging 9SF.
Also narrates an incident where in his junior Brig Hada as a team commander eliminates 10 militants in a single op wherein the militants were trying to bribe them.
Once a Sikh Li team going on to lay an ambush gets accidentally ambushed by them due to misunderstanding.
Goes on with the battalion to Kargil during Op Vijay wherein Colonel Vishal Dubey 10SF along with 5 Para SF captured a major point and our artillery does a blue on blue on 10's boys when they were having tea after capturing the top, he then returned back to Jodhpur with one team left in Kargil under Major Ranade 10SF.
Bhadauriya also mentions going to Special Group but remains tight lipped on it
Pardon for Spoilers:rain:
Below is the episode with Brig Ranade 10SF

Seems like a sugar coated version for own unit bcoz of bias.

Returned from kargil between war one would wonder?

Reason- During a recce fired a RL at enemy troops who were single digit in number…blew up the cover and faced a barrage of fire…retreated and were sent back to Jodhpur..complete picture!!

Sri Lanka was a total disaster for them specially in the first year.

Kashmir has also been a up and down ride for them.

Biases are bound for own battalion.

I feel Kargil and Lanka were blunders for the whole Organisation.
Opening RL fire too soon has happened with 9SF also as narrated by Maj Deepak Iyer🤣. This might not be the reason of sending them back to Jodhpur considering the plethora of tactical mistakes all troops did in Kargil.
Plus Bhadauriya mentions the commander who called him up with his troops told him to avoid mentioning about the battalion's deployment to anyone, might be related to their immediate sending back post them capturing a peak

Lanka although was truly a failure.

They did a decent job in J&K
I wouldn't give them any flak since all commando battalions produced nearly similar results plus their was forte was only limited to deserts and they were being thrown around the place.

I am not giving any hate i am just stating facts bcoz the officer has very conveniently said and we were sent back but why😀..why were you sent back in between a war?

Lanka was a bigger failure for them..units like 9 started doing well after initial set back bcoz they were masters in small team concept…10 could never recover in Sri Lanka.

In kashmir they have lost some troops in last 2 decades and the officer again has conveniently shared about 90s.

Its all ok from my side coz this is what Army officers do..they are all biased for their unit.

I have done boxing with police officers.

They are a mixed bag of toughness.

I know that wasn't hate bhai.
True that they weren't in that small team concept like 9. He mentioned that 5 of his men went to the city to get a volleyball repaired and then never returned in Lanka and we all know how the Jaffna plan ended.
He also says how they killed 3 sikh li guys due to misidentification as they were not aware of anyone else in that area
Yes they have lost men in last two decades, I was just summarising what the Colonel said.

Could you tell me more about the Kargil Blunder please?
