Launch: PSLV-XL C59 - PROBA-3 x 2 (Occulter and Coronagraph, ESA)/MOI-TD (Takeme2Space) - 5 December 2024 16:12 IST

For who wish to read about PROBA-3, from ESA's website.

It would study fainter corona of the Sun.

For Indian private satellite MOI-TD; technology demonstrator for orbit based data centers.
Hyderabad-based space technology firm TakeMe2Space is riding aboard PSLV-XL with the My Orbital Infrastructure - Technology Demonstrator (MOI-TD), marking India’s first artificial intelligence laboratory in space.
....aiming to revolutionise space research by enabling real-time data processing in orbit.
The MOI-TD platform has been developed with critical support from the IN-SPACe Technical Centre, a government agency that facilitates private sector activities in the space domain.
Located in Ahmedabad, IN-SPACe has provided essential facilities for testing and validating the MOI-TD platform, which addresses a significant challenge in satellite operations: the inefficiency of transmitting vast amounts of data to Earth.
Currently, up to 40% of satellite data can be rendered unusable due to factors like cloud cover, leading to delays of weeks for processing. By processing data directly in space, MOI-TD aims to provide actionable insights much faster and at a lower cost.
“MOI-TD will open up the space industry, particularly Earth observation, to millions of enthusiasts and researchers,” said Ronak Kumar Samantray, founder and CEO of TakeMe2Space. He emphasized the need for broader access to space technology to unlock human creativity in exploration and research.
Users will interact with the satellite through OrbitLab, a web-based console that allows them to upload AI models for various applications such as environmental monitoring, deforestation tracking, and greenhouse gas emission detection.
The platform has already secured its first research partners, including a Malaysian university and a group of Indian school students.
Equipped with advanced technology like AI accelerators, flexible solar cells, and sophisticated control systems, MOI-TD represents a significant step toward establishing data centers in space.
This mission not only enhances Earth observation capabilities but also lays the groundwork for future space-based computing technologies.

About Proba-3

Proba-3 is ESA’s – and the world’s – first precision formation flying mission. A pair of satellites will fly together maintaining a fixed configuration as a ‘large rigid structure’ in space to prove formation flying technologies and rendezvous experiments.
The mission will demonstrate formation flying in the context of a large-scale science experiment. The two satellites will together form an approximately 150-m long solar coronagraph to study the Sun’s faint corona closer to the solar rim than has ever before been achieved. Beside its scientific interest, the experiment will be a perfect instrument to measure the achievement of the precise positioning of the two spacecraft. It will be enabled using a wide variety of new technologies.

Nice news about the Proba Mission and the pleasant surprise of the Indian private sector satellite going up with it.

Given the combined weight of the 2 Proba Satellites, of about 550 kg, why is the PSLV- XL needed? Don't tell me the Indian AI satellite weighs over 500kg, which would certainly then require XL, when combined with the Proba-3.

Highly elliptical orbit.

This proved to be one of the most boring launch by ISRO. No interest in membraans!

Considering the 'world's first' character of the satellite(s) being launched, and the excellent apogee, 60,000 km for the first time, ( with PSLV, it is at most sub-GTO of 22,000 or so) it has been somewhat low profile in response and recognition!
