General History Thread - India : News , Updates & Discussions .

A movie need t9 be made on this. Had it been Hollywood and sardar patel jew - you would have engrossing international film out by now completely spreading two faced and deceitful character of muslim league and brits.

But given we have belchwood in Mumbai fim industry- even a film gets remotely made shall be about song and dance and stolen glances.
More than that you need to worry about the courts who won't let a single blot come to the reputation of sub-continent Muslims siteing "disruptive communal harmony element".

This Odd Compass channel is from the same school of philosophy as Manu Pillai , Kanisetty aka Kani of The misPrint fame & author of a few pop history books among several others , who're essentially water carriers for the west.

They'd cherry pick events from history, super impose it over the entire society & talk of nuances , accusing those opposed to their view of history of the same traits they themselves indulge in like cherry picking for instance.

Here's a good example :

Yea they quote extensively and mainly above from Vatsyayana's Kama Sutra which is the fav literature from India for degenerate Westoids especially. It's not shastraic by any means as a general guidebook on how to live but I suppose this handle quoted it to put racist white incels in their place.

Yajnadevam's going places , rather he's gone mainstream.

ToI has done an article on him , the contents of which I find more surprising than the fact that the IVC script may have been deciphered , especially when you consider the author's pedigree & place of occupation .

Wonderful article btw especially the way complex themes are sought to be explained in a simple manner without dumbing it down for the lay person .

Wish I were that articulate.

ॐ नमो भगवते रुद्राय । ॐ सरस्वत्यै नमः ॥

Indus corpus is 100% translated.

Some observations:
1. Grammatically correct Sanskrit throughout.
2. Consistent themes. A huge percentage (approx 90% relate to Rudra. Other gods like Indra and Vishnu are mentioned by their other names).
3. Rare missing anusvara, visarga as in later Brahmi inscriptions
4. Almost all inscriptions are R>L. Very few are L>R, most of L>R have the directional marker.
5. There is only one word रल in only one inscription M-1701 that is not officially in the dictionary. Related words do exist in the dictionary.

All in all, the translation effort has been a spectacular success and validates the decipherment.

I'd like to give a shoutout to all who have helped with the website, Sanskrit grammar, many suggestions. Especially thanks to the early critics, who tried to falsify my work. Your work improved the decipherment because my direction was generally right. The list of people to acknowledge is very long and impractical to list here.

Now enjoy!

One of the most impressive absurdities I see in Indus script research is the naivette of the decipherers. Most speculations presented in papers are improbable. Researchers who cannot distinguish between speculations and analysis certainly are going down the wrong road.

1. Were the seals used for trade records? The argument that people would work for weeks to carve, bleach and bake a seal to create a single trade record is impressively absurd on its own but the innumeracy of this is even more staggering. Among the 1000 years of the 1000 sites of the civilization were there only 4500 trades? Or only 4.5 trades/1000 years per site?
2. Were the seals used for trade licenses/taxes? This argument is also improbable for the same reason. In addition, only 70 or so Indus sites had these seals. 900+ sites of the 1000 excavated had no seals whatsoever. Apparently, they did not participate in the license Raj! The largest and oldest sites of Bhirrana and Rakhigarhi yielded 6 and 13 artifacts so far. These sites have existed for 5000+ years! and only a dozen licenses from here!
3. Were the seals non-religious? This speculation is based on rare seals in burials. Some decipherment attempts take this as a premise. However, it is common to not bury bibles and other religious artifacts, so this conclusion is an error. The abundance of religious iconography of obvious worship and sacrifice and puranic themes suggest that the inscriptions were religious in nature.

This is an important explanation for those who doubt the deciphering of the SSVC seals claiming the sole purpose of those seals were for trading purposes whether inland or overseas.
