well thank you for your suggestion that i should study but rn i have my sem break. and as for "some" job losses. our job market is completely dependent on burgerica, if they impose caatsa, which seems likely because this orangegutka has gone mad with tariff ye tariff wo. it would be a disaster for country where 3-4 lakh engineers graduate every year, then thousands of mba graduates.

What do we propose we do? Sit on our arses hoping for AMCA and engine tech while our enemies leave us behind in terms of capabilities?

We are looking at an earliest optimistic tineline of 2035 for AMCA, while Pakis will get their new birds in 2-3 years.

So we invest billions in more Rafales with their 4th gen tech and do nothing else?

Rafale f4 is a better choice logistics wise, and with so much "india specific enhancements" money with them, they have to integrate all our weapons
su57 would invite caatsa and engine embargo
F35 would invite burgers to control our airforce

If Indian weapons can't be used then no it's not better.

Neither Russia nor French have the industrial Capacity to supply weapons for a protracted war.

If we pitch it as a manufacture in India JV instead of a straight purchase, we might escape CAATSA or other sanctions. We also need to emphasize this is a national security issue and there are no viable alternatives to maintain the balance of power..

There are articles out dassault are going to manufacture wings as well with TASL in India. French are next level exploiters they have a backlog and sitting on it not loosing a sleep if we go with Su 57 or F35. They know IAF has 36 Rafales which isn’t sufficient and we have already built huge infra for 4 squadrons of rafales. Also navy bought 26 which gives them leverage to charge us as per their will. They will charge exorbitant prices to integrate our weapons eventually after delaying as much as possible or after selling prescribed amount of meteors.

No, they are not some invincible blood suckers, Govt has persuaded them to loosen up.

The Dassault chairman himself didn't want to increase their production capacity to meet the backlog IN FRANCE because his logic was in 5 years when all the orders are done, these new factories will sit idle, then what? he loses moneys.

Now knowing this they agree to let an Indian company build the fuselages of their plane in India.
For a commitment of only 26 additional planes for now.

And these are the biggest weasels, if thing is not in contract they won't move on it.

If our babooze have managed to open this chink in their armor of fuselage manufacturing here without any additional strong commitment of orders they can extract more from the French.

It won't be the carte blanche "put whatever you want on it" like with the Su-30 but as a part of the deal for IAF additional Rafales Astra & Gandiv will surely be integrated.

Why will IAF go for Mig29 or Mig35 when more advanced Su 57 is on offer ? It’s like saying go for Mirage 2000 than Rafale

Because Rafale was in the same league than Mig29/35 for MMRCA, and the russian jet didn't satisfied to tests (and the russian support was found bad).
Su57 can't be compared to Rafale. Su57 is a natural successor to Su30.

Nothing gonna happen even if America imposes caatsa, muricans have sanctioned us in past post pokhran ii with japan also washing it's hand in the flowing ganga. Despite sanctions and a limited war our economy grew very well in early 2000s.

Where have you read that ?
the production line will reach 3/month this year, and the supply chain is checked to see how to go forward (the son of a friend of mine is a Dassault purchaser).
If India give a backlog enough to built a line in India, a line will be opened. And if in 5 years Dassault have to shut it OFF because the firm order is too short, it will be integrated in the global price, that's all.

exemple : Indonesia inked the first order in february 2022, but the bank wire only came in september and the contrat is green only when the acount is paid. The first bird will be delivered early next year. ie 40 months. No one can deliver a jet made on order in less than 36 months. Not too bad.

Majority of the anger towards Dassualt and French isn't about equipment being pricey, its extortion after the deal was locked on, just like Scorpene or Mirage 2000. If your lot has honestly said that we are gonna charge Morbillion Dollars later for some upgrades or repair, and still IAF decides to do randirona then we can blame them.

By the way, has Dassault fulfilled all offsets of Rafale deal?

bro IT bubble will going to burst soon or later in india....coz its created by US dollar nd we r seeing danger in US dollar global currency reserve status. so u will see huge job cut in IT sector etc. western citizen already struggling to live nd many doing two time jobs. how will they pay for IT services, when they themself are suffering from basic necessities. u need to make secondary carrier option also. eventually u live, either with good resources or limited resources.
i dont think india care about CAATSA...thats why we purchase S400 nd oil from russia. national security is bigger problem than jobs in india. hope u will not face any problem from these situations. 7 pushtein secure only for millionare nd billionaire family in india.

French have not delivered on offset clause of first batch of Rafales and yet to integrate Astra missiles. Heck there are reports they haven’t even integrated meteors to Indian Rafales hence we didn’t see any of meteor wreckage in Operatiom sindoor and we all know French tot saga in Scorpene submarines.
