Another analysis of the conundrum that is the state elections in Maharashtra

can the unstable nature of Maharashtra politics and its impact on mumbai compel the businesses to move out in search of greener pastures?
Or is there something else in Mumbai that makes it easier for businesses to stay there?

I'm not sure if these things even have an impact on Buisneses class in general.

I believe that leaving a cash cow city like Mumbai to loonies of Marathi politcis is a overall bad thing for Indias future plan. Much life Califronia which in the wrong hand is a liability for America's interest.

It doesn't affect business in the least. After all the Congress + NCP (undivided) ruled over Maharashtra from 1999 to 2014 & the BJP SS before & after it with what happened between 2019-24 before you .

Businesses & businessman are flexible. They'd make the necessary adjustments & adaptations to survive or even thrive. The atmosphere in the South & West is quite unlike what it is in the rest of the country w.r.t business.

Politicians & businesses come to some accomodation & life goes on here unless there's some sort of vendetta politics around of which I haven't seen any examples

It doesn't.
Dhandhos are very passive towards the political class and the political class is very pragmatic where $$$$ is concerned in many cases a total 180 compared towards their political jhumlas( ex. Raul barking against Adani while many cong state govts gave him red carpet treatment for investments )

Even your old SS and later MNS of about ~2009 or so would do Marathi Manoos only for politics, not for any actual effect that would surely spook the Dhandhos.

What the current fractured mess of MH politics will impact is the govt/governance aspect i.e infrastructure building and maintenance and greenfield manufacturing projects which would prefer more stable states where they can get sht done easily

Penguins lost their wings because no one came to attack them for thousands of years... so they didn't need the ability to fly.

Hindus lost whatever little shatrubodh we had in just 75yrs of independence.

We are actually worst than penguins.

Our airforce is on deathbed. There are no hues and cries anywhere in the media about this.

Accha hota had invasions never stopped.

The more deeply I think about it the more I feel that our internal & external vulnerabilities are rapidly increasing.

As I had stated earlier on some other thread the biggest scam in this country is not some CWG, Coal gate etc...

The biggest scam is the republic day parade(which is mostly a military parade) which is watched by millions of people who don't understand a bit of the shiny toys being displayed... (they don't know whether what's being displayed is relevant in modern warfare or even if it is whether they are in required numbers or not)... but it gives them a false sense of assurance, pride & security.

Homi Bhabha and his Nuclear Team have arguably contributed more to the continuity of Indian civilization than many freedom fighters. I hesitate to say this, but it seems that most of our pre-independence leaders and politicians had a rather limited understanding of what it truly takes to build a nation.

The pre-independence freedom fighters were too focused on non-violence and human ideals, without a proper emphasis on the "machine" aspect—except for Subhas Chandra Bose, who at least built an army. What happened to a nation that once revered weapons like the Trishul and the Chakra?

Post-independence, it took Indira Gandhi to conduct nuclear tests, unlike her predecessor Nehru, who was still lost in the delusion of peaceful coexistence. By God's grace, we now have a nuclear weapons program that, while it may not prevent us from facing humiliation at times, ensures the survival of our civilization.

As for the 90% rural mindset of people who vote for politicians undermining our military, they only gain wisdom when they face the consequences of such neglect. Otherwise, these people would rather demand ₹1 lakh crore in freebies than support military modernization.

The main problem with the independence fighters becoming leaders is the same scenario of Robert Baratheon becoming king in GoT : a great fighter doesnt make a good king and a great rebel doesn't make a good administrator.

Local opposition setup is full jhol in my constituency

There is an "independent" candidate who was part of PWP, but now isn't but his pamphlets declare that he is MVA and PWP #PhoolSapported, the pamphlet features logos of all MVA parties but not Uddhav Sena's Mashal

Turns out the Uddhav Sena has it's own candidate, some woman politician who recently left BJP because no ticket.

Its a complete sh!t show , not just nightmare for pollsters but voters as well.

I am really not looking forward to vote this time , just dont know whom to vote.

The ladies of my building are going to vote for jr. R. Thackeray cause he and his wife are good looking couple and his fair and pretty wife came personally knocking on every door asking for a vote.

One of my relatives, a hardcore Shivsainik and Balasaheb fan , continued voting for UBT just cause of Balasaheb is now in a fix as MVA gave seat to INC . Poor fellow cannot bring himself to press the button for Panja after spitting on INC all his life.

We had freedom fighters with Entrepreneurship minds like V.O.Chidambaram Pillai who established Shipping company. But after Independence Lehru ji nuked all entrepreneurs and subsequent governments killed whatever remaining. After that period we have license raj and family connection based companies. From 91 to till Modi era we were more or less playing catchups. But in last 10+years GOI putting emphasize on India should actively work on Cutting edge tech is a welcome change. But I believe it will take an decade to see new Companies.

Meanwhile companies like OLA Electric who on paper promoted EV 2 wheelers among masses but ends up in fighting against an failed commie comedian, scamming Government by claiming solved all issues instead of accepting the problem and rectifying the issue. We are in the era of scam companies.

I believe we are in "Cheap Made in China Shit" era with regarding to manufacturing. China has been there some 10-15 years back and now they improved.

As for OLA Electric CEO Shenanigans, it's merely a bitter banter - a feature of Democracy. It's not as if every Manufacturer of Vehicles out there itching to pick a fight. We are in the era of Tech Bro CEOs.

stop thinking and take a break from the internet.
He will. By deleting the post in question. Remarkable talent to switch on & switch off emotions. Only the best of the actors had it .

We had visionaries

Laxmanrao Kirloskar: he brought industrialization to far flung rural Maharashtra. The rural plant setup by him sends components to ISRO.

After independence evey single large scale village should have had 1 to 2 factories, that would have uplifted the masses.

Tech bros CEO are only required in Pump and Dump softwares. Something like an 2 wheeler whose family depends on livelihood and it requiers Approx 1 lakh is being in showroom for 2-3 months because an software bug screwed up the boot opening.

This is the level of OLA scooters user experience. Bhavish needs to step down and get someone who works in 2 wheeler industry. His Elund Muskquito shennaigians were creating a big problem for his company.

Maharashtra surprisingly had very decent amount of people with Entrepreneurs spirit during 1800s to 1950s and most of them were local marathis. Perhaps it was extention of Maratha empire's innovative minds, wealth and aspiration.
Those entrepreneurs were mostly Gujaratis Kutchis Marwaris ( both Hindus & Jains ) & Parsis who settled in East India Company - EIC controlled Bombay - later British Raj & were joined by Sindhis & Punjabis post partition.

Maharashtrian entrepreneurs don't comprise a significant component of the demographic in Mumbai much like native Kannadigas don't comprise much of the entrepreneurial class in Bangalore today , notwithstanding the IT industry where they're much better represented.

Would you consider marathi brahmin and Marathi kayasth caste as exception? Whenever I do dig out about Maharashtra history it's mostly the most prominent caste in terms of buisness or even in very niche things like sports, expensive hobbies, arts.

From an outside perspective these two caste feel like a watered down Tamil Brahmin but regardless way better representation than rest of the Marathi society.

They do feel like a high achieving brahmin kayastha group when compared to rest their counterpart groups in India.

It's because most of the mainstream freedom fighters today were peaceful non-violent gandi followers, not muscular "power flows through barrel of the gun" Commie ones like shaheed Bhagat Singh and his 2 frens or ideologically fluid Netaji and his group.

I still prefer the current status quo because it resulted in the country being left united, 3-4 different krantikari groups even though would do good pela of anglo and collaborators would lead to country being in pieces after Anglo ran for his life, we aren't a mono-linguistic country like Alg

Local 3 time MLA at my place is from Bhajipao but is Congress import.

Years back our area was attached to his constituency and Muncipal Coporation
Since then there has been a farman of (((retroactive property tax))), parks are not maintained anymore, streets are filthy, roads have potholes and tbh our area has gone to the dogs.

I want him to lose, it's very sad he was the Bhajipao candidate, i want the MVA backed independent to win, Inshallah if he does let's hope Bhajipao gets him to join their coalition
