i know it's not worth loosing some brain cells over it, but as a firearms enthusiast, i couldn't help but feel curious is this 'racking the slide by striking it on heel of a boot' thing is even possible, and some pointers about it
-> so on a typical reciprocating slide pistol, it's obvious that he couldn't have racked it by striking its muzzle side, as when such a typical pistol cycles, the barrel usually peeps out of front end
-> also on many typical pistols with fixed pattern recoil spring designs, the front end of recoil spring rod also peeps out, t
-> also, many pistols have their lower ends of frame extended upto slide length, to mainly act as a cover for that recoil spring rod when a pistol slides
so this trick most likely involves hitting on a pistol's slide part below the muzzle, and such a pistol shouldn't have recoil spring rod sticking out of that end when it's racked like that, and front end of frame shouldn't cover that part up
means, a glock can't be racked like that, nor a sig p226,
so what pistols can be racked like this? *ahem*
Browning Hi-Power,
M1911,
Tokarev TT-23, and some others that's got a telescopic recoil spring there, that don't have their front ends of recoil spring bars sticking out, and hopefully, their front ends of a frame does not extend upto slide and allow enough space there for a pistol to be racked like that,
(
Cz-75 is another pistol that fits in this category, except last part, that it's front end of the frame is long enough to prevent such racking of slide by hill strike, a user has to positively pull it fully rearwards to get in action)
here he's doing it with Browning Hi-Power obviously, so yeah, check out these images here to understand the gist

BUT, this entire thing, first requiring a compatible pistol, then requiring that a user
- carefully strikes bottom of the slide at flat angle to his heel
- this strike should be made with enough force to fully retract a slide on his pistol
- should be done in quick succession so it doesn't misfeed
^all of this in a moment of heat, while saving a VIP hostage from getting attacked, while trying to open fire on some potential terrorists

the amount of conditions that goes into play here are so specific for successful outcome...i shudder to think who even thought of this maneuver
