Indo-China Border & LAC

It depends on whether ordinary Russians want to return to pre-2022 or continue with the present
Dude, we are talking about a people who burned down their own capitol and carried on fighting till the eventual destruction of the Grand Army!! They will much rather die than capitulate to external pressure, as long as they think they have a shot at winning.

I did not say we "lost" 10,000 km land, buffer zone is our side, we lost, etc. etc. we are doomed. As of what agreement stands, we still have upper hand and advantage with disengagement & patrolling agreement.

Neither did I.

My point was very simple. India had established 65 patrolling points to ensure presence along OUR understanding of LAC (in red, which is quite a bit beyond the LAC you're used to seeing on international maps) access to 26 of which was blocked in 2020... A very simple question. How many of them we've regains access to? No more than 6 by my present understanding. You're welcome to prove me wrong. But until then it means that we've made no solid gains & the "buffer" areas mostly lie on our understanding of LAC even if it's only the Chinese are the ones pulling back, because they were originally on the west side of the red line enforcing the black-dotted LAC line! Which it isn't, because both are moving back. That's worse.

What have we conceded?.. we've let them in areas previously in our sole control to try to do another Galwan after 10 years.

I predicted exactly this even before these recent news were out. SO HOW WAS I WRONG?

We should be refusing to disengage until they moved back to 1959 pre-war seperation line (in blue) rejecting to recognise any line established by violence against us.

@mist_consecutive is rite .

patrol points "pp" went into buffer zone , not rite to say it was blocked , only those in depsang were being blocked .

the blue line is never gonna happen , blue line at pangong tso lake is practically international border , no way they are gonna give it to us . same for rest of it north

Depsand had only PP-10 to PP-13... That's 4 out of 26, ifffff we're getting access to them.

Hot-Spring areas have PP-15 to PP-23. There the engagements were at out PPs. Meaning any disengagement will cause us to lose access to our patrolling points along our LAC.

DBO highway is a good guess, we only started seriously building any infra near the LAC around 2012 after Murricans asked us to do so. It looks like Chinks don't want to worry about this fron for the time being.

that's the theory i subscribe to as well, but it is one of many theories floating around and that's the issue. there is equal probability that Xi is not in control of some sections of his forces and the real target of this escalation is Xi, it's a theory.

not knowing why exactly a neighbouring country decided to convert a military training exercise to a conflict which lead to deaths is not a good place to be.

Maybe... I remember PP14, PP15 & PP17 were mentioned as flashpoints in the Galwan clash.
